Offensive dance for young audiences

Co-financed by: State of Berlin

In its third funding phase, Offensive Tanz will consolidate what it has achieved so far and prepare to continue its work as the “Fachstelle Junger Tanz Berlin” (Young Dance Berlin Center). Existing areas of activity will be further developed and expanded in terms of content: In the area of artistic research, discourse, and continuing education, a pilot residency with an intergenerational approach is planned in cooperation with the FELD Theater, among others, which is aimed at both very young and very old people. In the area of education and training, new workshop modules for dance professionals, multipliers, and young dance scholars will be implemented. A newly created management position for participation and outreach will enable the challenges in this area to be addressed even more specifically in the future. In addition, three new productions will be created during the funding period, reaching a total of around 2,500 audience members with 24 performances, thus further anchoring contemporary dance for young audiences in Berlin's cultural landscape

Offensive Tanz für junges Publikum

Chronicle

The Offensive Tanz für junges Publikum Berlin (Dance for Young Audiences Berlin Initiative) is an association of four experienced local, national, and international partners from the contemporary dance scene and the children's and youth theater scene: PURPLE – International Dance Festival for Young Audiences, TANZKOMPLIZEN, Theater STRAHL, and Theater o.N.
From the outset, the common goal was to establish dance for young audiences in Berlin in an outstanding and sustainable position in terms of structure, audience development, appearance, communication, and production. The central programmatic theme is equity – in the sense of equal rights, equal opportunities, and diversity. Equity is an active attitude that challenges us to ensure greater justice and diversity in our actions
