BEA KIESSLINGER
Project management: cultural-political dialogue

Bea Kiesslinger studied architecture in Stuttgart and taught movement and space at the TU Stuttgart. In her work, she has focused for 20 years now on contemporary dance, as a managing director of cultural institutions, a networker, a director of artistic projects, a curator, a dramaturge, a juror and a lobbyist for contemporary dance.
From 1998 to 2007, she ran the Dance and Theatre Workshop association in Ludwigsburg; she was the organisational director of the Dance Platform Germany event in Stuttgart in 2006 and worked at Stuttgart Theatre as artistic managing director. In 2009, she founded the national TanzSzene BW network with the aim of strengthening the structure and content of dance in Baden-Württemberg. She has been on the board of the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland since 2010, is a member of the Stadt-Land-Bund initiative group and is the director of the InfoPlus network project, among others.

MICHAEL FREUNDT
Managing director of the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland

Michael Freundt graduated in theatre studies, philosophy and dance studies at the Hans Otto Drama Academy and the University of Leipzig. He worked as a freelance journalist and critic for zitty, Wochenpost, Theater der Zeit and the Berliner Zeitung, among other publications. As a director, dramaturge, and theatre producer, he was a member of the foundation and management team of various independent theatre projects in Leipzig, Münster and Berlin. He was the press officer and artistic assistant at euro-scene Leipzig from 1997 onwards and its artistic director from 2001 to 2002.
After working in several independent theatre, dance and old-music productions, he then became Deputy Director on the Management Board of the German Centre of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) at the start of 2003.
He was involved in the meetings of the Permanent Conference for Dance from 2004 onwards, co-ordinated the transformation into a registered association and was appointed managing director of SK Tanz (now the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland) on its foundation in March 2006.

ALEXA JUNGE
Public relations

Alexa Junge studied ethnology and religious studies at the Free University in Berlin and at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, focusing on Hinduism, medical anthropology and dance studies. Since 2007, she has worked in cultural management, including as an artistic and organisational management assistant at Zukunft@BPhil, in the education department at the Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra and in the Tanzplan Potsdam: Artists-in-Residence Teaching and Research Programme run by fabrik Potsdam. From 2007 onwards, she was an independent assistant in the field of dance at the German Centre of the International Theatre Institute (ITI). She has been responsible for public relations at the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland since 2013 and runs the office of the Society for Dance Research.

RICCARDA HERRE
Project Management – Promotion Fund

Riccarda Herre completed her dance training at the ballet school of the Hamburg State Opera in 1987. She then danced as a soloist in various companies in Germany and abroad, including in CIE Red Notes in Paris, the Choreographic Theatre at the Volksbühne Berlin and the Dance Theatre of the German National Theatre in Weimar. In 2004, she graduated as a culture and media manager at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre. From 2002, she worked as an assistant and production manager for various companies, theatres and institutions, for example as the production manager for the Tanz im August and Context festivals at the Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin. She managed the first Dance Education Biennale for Tanzplan Deutschland and since 2011 has been a project co-ordinator and research assistant at DIEHL+RITTER.

ISABEL NIEDERHAGEN
Project Management – Promotion Fund

After studying theatre science, comparative literature and journalism, Isabel Niederhagen became a research assistant at the Institute for Theatre Studies at the Free University of Berlin and then, in 1999, press officer and programme dramaturge at the Theater am Halleschen Ufer in Berlin. In 2003, she co-founded the k3 berlin – Office for Culture and Communication agency that among other things managed press and PR work for the Tanz im August international dance festival in Berlin and the Federal Cultural Foundation’s national Dance Congress. In 2006, she accepted an invitation from the Choreographisches Zentrum NRW / PACT Zollverein to take over project management from tanzplan essen 2010. Since 2012, she has been a research assistant at DIEHL+RITTER.

BASTIENNE KÄSTNER
Financial management of the promotion fund

Bastienne Kästner graduated in Applied Cultural Studies from the Leuphana University in Lüneburg, focusing on music and cultural promotion and organisation among other topics. After various activities in cultural and international projects such as the Kampnagel Dance and Theatre Festival and in Community Dance, she worked for several years as a project manager of international courses at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR). In 2014, she took executive responsibility for organisation of a new African-German Master’s degree (a development and education policy project with the German Society for International Partnership (GIZ)) at the HWR. In addition to course co-ordination, she was responsible for administering the project budget and supporting the academic director in co-operation negotiations for the financing and further development of the project. She has been a financial manager at DIEHL+RITTER gUG since June 2017.
